February was a great month of reading. I dove into Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Babel by R.F. Kuang, Morningstar by Pierce Brown, and Warriorborn by Jim Butcher. Below are some short reviews of each.

Crime and punishment was my introduction to Dostoyevsky and it sure does deliver. I want to give this read 5 stars, and perhaps I’m jaded, but I certainly felt that at times I was in class. Overall the story and characters were incredible. A wonderful novel with lessons for everyone.

Babel was not my cup of tea. I’ve given Babel 3 stars because the magic system is unique and original. The story, characters, and developmental arc of the entire narrative were lacking.

Morningstar was wonderful. So much action, political drama, and intrigue. Easily my favorite from the original Red Rising trilogy.

Warriorborn was incredible. While incredibly short, Jim Butcher’s Cinder Spire’s universe has me captivated. I can’t get enough of the universe and I’m eagerly waiting for the next in the series.

I hope you enjoy the short reviews. Please check-out January’s reading wrap up for other fun reads!

Crime and Punishment review. 4 stars. A crime thriller classic. Very enjoyable with beautiful prose and engaging story. Found myself deeply intrigued with the characters and story telling. While partly a philosophy lecture, the story is easy to follow and enjoy.
Warriorborn by Jim Butcher - short review. 5 stars. A novella in the cinder spires universe ocurring between the events of the Aeronauts Windlass and the Olympian Affair. I'm in love with this world and always want more.
Bable by R.F. Kuang - short review. 3 stars. Standalone fantasy novel primarily criticizing colonialism and imperialism. Very unique magic system that language enthusiasts will enjoy.
Morningstar by Pierce Brown - short review. 5 stars. Finale of the Red Rising trilogy. Action packed with plenty of political intrigue, drama, and engaging dialogue. Loved this series and Morningstar is my favorite installment. Excited to start the next trilogy.
